New Delhi: The Modi government at the Center will bring in detailed law to regulate drone flights in the country following a drone attack on an Air Force station in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The Center today released an updated draft of Drone Rules 2021. The draft has been requested for public comment.
According to a draft released by the Aviation Ministry, the government has reduced several approvals for flying drones. According to this project, the government wants to expand the flight of drones in the country. So this is where the government brings facilities such as geolocation, real-time monitoring for security. The government has granted relief from approvals on the unique authorization number, the unique prototype identification number, the training certificate, the maintenance certificate, the import authorization, the current drone approval, the operator license, authorization from the R&D organization, student remote pilot license, remote pilot instructor authorization, drone carrying authorization.
The number of forms for drone licenses has increased from 25 to 6. The yellow zone is now reduced from 45 kilometers to 12 kilometers near airports. In other words, drones can now be flown in more areas around the airport. Clearance to fly up to 400 feet in green areas and up to 200 feet in an area between 8 and 12 km from the circumference of the airport will not be required. The drone coverage has increased from 300 kg to 500 kg. It will also include drone taxis.
