Chelsea’s January transfer window is about to begin and it will be a season of outings rather than signings.
The Blues ended the summer window by getting rid of Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek as their midfielder at the last moment, and they will start the winter window in a similar fashion, throwing Danny Drinkwater out of their reserves at Kasimpasa in Turkey.

DD has had a few disappointing Premier League loans recently – to Burnley and Aston Villa – and has been unable to make an impact. In Turkey he can play at a lower level and hopefully at least rack up a few minutes on the pitch, rather than rot in the reserves at Cobham.
Once gone, there will still be a long way to go to make room for Frank Lampard’s squad, but it’s a start. It just feels like Drinkwater brings bad vibes, and we’re happy to take it to sunnier climates as soon as possible.
